Today we went hiking, it felt like everywhere! We hiked in three states: Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. MY LEGS ARE BREAKING!
All our hiking was on the Appalachian Trail (AT). The trail goes mostly in forests and on mountains, but sometimes it passes right through towns. It is 3,500 kilometres long. We followed white blazes, usually on trees.
I went on the bus to go to Harpers Ferry because it is an old, small town and there is no room to park. I had ice cream and I walked over the railroad bridge, which is part of the Appalachian Trail, too. In Pennsylvania, we walked right over railroad tracks on the AT!
I climbed a tall mountain in Maryland to a high cliff! It was rocky and there was no fence around. The view was AMAZING!! We ate a picnic on the cliff, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
When we got down, we hiked a bit more on the AT and even crossed under a highway. Then I went to a Mexican restaurant for supper. I HATE SPICY FOOD!!
I can’t wait for day three!
